When you enter the courtroom in Franklin County, do not chew gum, wear a hat, read the newspaper, or display any disrespectful conduct while waiting for your case to be called. Even taking in a pager, cell phone, or any noise-making devise will be viewed as your being problematic.
Franklin County is not a particularly busy division of the Probate and Family Court. Accordingly, many motions may be submitted to the Court by mail without the need for appearance by counsel or the parties. Those most often accepted for routine allowance are Motions for Temporary Orders which have resulted in an agreement by both parties and their attorneys, Motions to Implement Wage Assignment through the Department of Revenue, Motions for Short Order of Notice on Complaints for Contempt, and Dismissal of Complaints.
In Franklin County, the Attorney Who You Hire Should Give You the "Home-Court Advantage" That You Need - and Deserve!
While every Massachusetts Probate & Family judge applies the same set of laws, those in Franklin County tend to handle procedural aspects of a case somewhat differently than the judges and courthouses from other counties. For that reason, you need to retain a divorce lawyer that is familiar with the nuances of the Franklin County Family Court.
